SUMMARY:Colorado River Alliance Community Creek Cleanup (Nov 7)
DESCRIPTION:Community Creek Cleanup at Onion Creek Metropolitan Park on November 7 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm CST. This is a family-friendly event where volunteers of all ages will help remove trash from in and around Onion Creek to protect the Texas Colorado River and our local drinking water. Could you please add this to your promotional channels? All the event details and the volunteer registration form can be found directly on our GivePulse Event Info Page. \nMeeting Place: We will meet at the pavilion by the Onion Creek Trailhead (7004 Onion Creek Dr\, Austin\, TX 78744)\nDirections: If you are driving down East William Cannon from I-35\, turn right on South Pleasant Valley Road. Take the first left you see onto Onion Creek Drive. Follow Onion Creek until you reach Vine Hill Road. You have reached the parking lot\, and you will see a children’s playscape and a pavilion.\nWhen: Saturday\, November 8th from 10am – 12pm \nWhat to Bring: We will provide the tools needed to complete the cleanup\, such as grabbers and trash bags. Please bring a full water bottle\, sun protection\, and any snacks you may like to have on hand. \nWhat to wear: Weather-appropriate clothing\, sun protection\, and closed-toed shoes are recommended. Long pants\, long socks\, and long-sleeve shirts can protect against poison ivy\, bug bites\, and other common irritants. There are several burs in Onion Creek\, so we do not recommend wearing pants that have intentional holes\, fringe\, or are made from a soft material such as jogging pants and leggings \nContact: Please contact volunteer@coloradoriver.org if you need assistance.
