🥾 Start your blue sky day off with a crisp hike at @inkslakesp (you can camp here as well!)
We did the Devils Waterhole hike at Inks Lake. There are many different trails you can do here. It’s also a favorite for summer time swimming!

🍔Grab a tasty lunch and a beer at @double_horn_brewing and enjoy their patio! We tried the fried pickles, salad, wings, and hot honey chicken and everything was delicious! 😋

🍭 We had to explore the charming downtown area with stops in adorable shops like @mslollipopparties @houseofcheesemf and @choccolattestx 🍦Don’t forget to play some xylophones and add to the “Before I Die” Wall!

🎳 Next stop was bowling and mini golf at @putters.and.gutters ⛳️ They also have an arcade and go karts!

🍺 Relax with a beer while the kids play on the playground at @stwbrewing Save The World Brewing Co (bonus for those of you with Hops For Houses Passports: this one is a participating brewery!) we love the new playground they recently added (same designer as the one who made the playground for Meanwhile Brewing!)

Marble Falls is such a fun and easy getaway from Austin with so much for kids too!

💙 THE SENSORY CLUB 💙

This new space is just for kids with special needs. 🥰 @thesensoryclubaustin is a sensory health center specifically designed for people of all age with disabilities/special needs. TSC provides access to therapeutic play and sensory equipment for families to utilize as they see fit. The club aims to create a safe and controlled environment to regulate and explore sensory needs, outside of home and around a supportive community.

Here is a space that’s exclusively just for kids with sensory issues, special needs, and disabilities. We love that they get their own space to play and hang out without feeling over stimulated or overwhelmed. We also love the potential to meet other special needs friends and build a community here in Austin. Plus it’s this is a local mom-owned business (my favorite!)

⭐️ Tips:
👉Please respect the rules: this is strictly for kids with special needs and not open to the general public.
👉After your initial consultation to begin your membership, you do not need to schedule play sessions in advance. No reservations needed!
👉No classes or therapy offered. It’s simply a place to safely play!

🚤 the boats go very slow (only 4mph) and they are very easy to drive. Must be 21 to rent/drive the boat. Kids of all ages are welcome to ride.

🦕 DINOSAUR TRACKS IN LEANDER!!

🚗 We parked at Green Valley Dr & US Hwy 183 on the shoulder of the road behind a couple of other cars. You can access it by going south on the 183 service road just past where the San Gabriel River crosses under the 183. If you travel north on 183, turn left on Green Valley Dr.

⚠️ Please note that this is not an actual parking area! There are signs on one side of the road saying No Parking (do not park there!). We ended up getting a spot along the shoulder on the other side of the road behind 2 other cars, and there weren’t specific No Parking signs on that side. Park at your own risk!!! Also please leave a comment if you find a better parking situation than this so it helps others.

👉 Head left down the path towards the riverbed down the big hill.

👉 Go left (west) down the trail. If you want to stay completely dry, there’s a path up on the left.

👉 Go back down into the riverbed once it’s not too deep. Keep going past the big boulders. If you can still see the 183 bridges, you haven’t gone far enough.

👉 The tracks will appear in the riverbed just past when the path curves to the right.

👉TIPS:
☀️ There won’t be much shade along the trail. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, and hats.
🥾 Wear water hiking shoes like Keens if you want to walk in the riverbed. You definitely can avoid getting wet entirely if you want. There’s a path on the left side.
🚽 No bathrooms so plan accordingly!
🚗 The parking area is small, go on an off time to guarantee parking.
