Story Time at BookPeople
Begin the morning at BookPeople for their story time. It doesn’t start until 10:30 a.m., which is nice if you want a leisurely morning of getting ready at a toddler’s pace. No rushing out the door to make this story time! We got there about 10 minutes early to peruse the books and toys, wander through the tunnel a few times, and get our seats. The book reader read 3 books and then handed out cookies and stickers to everyone afterwards. We sat at a tiny table to read some more books and enjoy the cookies before we left.
Whole Foods Rooftop Playground
One of my favorite things about this city is the Whole Foods on North Lamar. Such a cool store, from the rooftop playground, the rooftop ice skating rink in the winter time, and even the cart escalator down into the parking garage. My kids think it’s one big party! Another amazing thing is the food choices. Hot food, cold food, salad bar, pizza; the possibilities are endless and everyone can get what they want. We came here after story time and got some lunch down in the store, then rode the elevator up to the roof to eat and play at the playground.
The patio is nice and shady (the tables, not the playground). There’s also a bathroom up on the roof making it especially easy to go with toddlers who might be potty training.
Don’t forget my son’s favorite part: riding the cart escalator down into the parking garage. Even if you didn’t park down there, it’s definitely a must-do for kids this age! They will get such a kick out of it!
