Play Street Museum is Now Open in South Austin
There’s a new place to play in town and it’s called Play Street Museum! It’s located in South Austin (Sunset Valley) and is owned by a local family. There’s so much to do here, come take a look at the new Play Street Museum Sunset Valley.
Admission
The cost to play for an hour and a half at Play Street Museum is $14 for kids ages 1-8 years old. Siblings younger or older are free if accompanying paying child. You can book your playtime by reservation online, or take your chances as a walk-in (but there are no guarantees that there will be room for you if you try that option). There are 5 different play time slots per day, with a half hour break in between play times where they clean the whole place. You can also choose to get a 5 visit pass and save 15%.
Hours
Session times are: 8:30-10:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m., 12:30-2:00 p.m., 2:30-4:00 p.m., & 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Cleaning
They spend 30 minutes between play sessions cleaning the whole place, which is so appreciated!
Free Snack!
You get a token for a free snack when you arrive!
Shoes Stay On!
No need to worry about remembering to bring socks or buying socks when you get here. Shoes stay on!
Arts & Crafts
They have tables set up with all the arts & craft supplies you could ever want. Kids can draw, paint, cut, and color til their hearts’ content over here and leave the mess- no cleaning up at home!
Slime Station
For only $7, you can make your own slime at Play Street Museum! Have all the fun with none of the mess at your house. You get to choose
Paint Your Own Pottery
Pottery pieces are $15-20. They supply the pieces and paints. The kids can pick up their pottery after it’s been fired and take it home!
Montessori-Inspired Play Station
A Montessori-lover’s dream come true! There’s a whole open-ended play station that’s perfect for babies and toddlers.
Dinosaurs
Kids who love dinos will love to play over in this area. They even have jumbo blocks for building your own dinosaur!
Train Table
The most epic train table sits right in the middle of the play area. My oldest son would have LOVED this when he was a toddler. Trains were his favorite.
Imaginative Play
There are many little play stations inside to spark imaginative play, such as a doctor’s office, a vet clinic, a grocery store, houses, a fire station, and a sweet shop. Perhaps the most exciting of all is the garbage truck that lets kids sort the trash into slots and then crank the wheel and the trash all comes back out.
