Santa’s Ranch opens November 3 and runs through December 31, 2023. Sun-Thurs  6 p.m. – 10 p.m. and
Fri-Sat  6pm-11 p.m. Bring your friends and family and enjoy one of the best holiday light exhibits in the state! You’ll take a drive through over a mile of winding country roads while taking in the beautiful lights, animated Christmas displays, and enjoying homemade hot cocoa, kettle corn, and snacks. 9561 I-35 N, New Braunfels.

November 4

Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops in Round Rock begins Nov 4 and runs thru Dec 24. Reserve your time slot to meet Santa and get a FREE PHOTO online.

November 5

Sunday Makebreak is from 2-4 p.m. at all Michael’s stores. Make an ornament for free!

November 9

Mozart’s Annual Holiday Light Show kicks off on Nov 9 and runs thru Jan 6, 2024. Reserve tables ($40-60) or free GA tickets online.

November 10

Bee Cave On Ice opens on Nov 10 at the Hill Country Galleria and runs thru January 15th. The $15 ticket includes a skate rental and a 60-minute skate session. Reservations are highly encouraged, but a number of walk-ups will be available. Skate times each day vary. 

On Friday, November 10 from 5-9 p.m., there will be a free Holiday Extravaganza in Centennial Park in Round Rock. Shopping, food trucks, kids activities, live music, and more.

Creek Show 2023 is coming back to Waterloo Park from November 10-18 from 6-10 p.m. This free display of illuminated art created by local artists and live music is fun for the whole family. Free- no tickets required. Waller Creek at 700 E 9th St to Waterloo Park

November 11

Holiday Bazaar Arts & Crafts Show is on November 11 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Clay Madsen Rec Center in Round Rock. Live music, shop, and stroll. Admission is free but please bring a canned food item or boxes of colorful Band-Aids for the Children’s hospital. 1600 Gattis School Rd, Round Rock

A Christmas Affair is a five-day holiday market benefiting The Junior League of Austin’s signature programs and community non-profit partners. November 15-19, 2023. A Christmas Affair is returning to the Palmer Events Center located at 900 Barton Springs Road, Austin. There will be children’s parties as well! Be sure to check the schedule for all the events.

Luminations at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center begins Nov 24, 2023 and goes thru Jan 6, 2024 from 5:45-9 p.m.

On November 24, kick-off the holiday season at the annual Lighting of the Square in Georgetown, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving. The downtown holiday lights will remain lit every evening through January 1. FREE! 103 W 7th St, Georgetown.

Peppermint Parkway at COTA opens on November 24 and runs through December 30, 2023. Experience over six million lights on the drive-thru Parkway and take a parade lap behind a lead car around the only permanent, purpose-built F1 track in the United States. Keep the festivities going outside your vehicle at Peppermint Plaza. Walk through brilliant light displays, discover delicious specialty drinks and local food, and explore the newest additions to the Plaza, including Pepper’s Petting Zoo, Mistletoe Kissing Booth and 30-foot-tall Twinkle Tree perfect for holiday card pics, and three new amusement rides fit for the whole family. Tickets here.

November 25

Free Kids DIY Workshop at Home Depot from 9 a.m. – noon. Make a penguin ornament!

Santa on the Terrace at the Long Center event is on November 25 at 11 a.m. Santa himself (the real one!) will be there to take free photos with you and your party, plus there will be cookies & cocoa, Mrs. Claus, a photo frame for “elfies”, and more holiday fun!

November 26

57th Zilker Holiday Tree Lighting is November 26, 2023 from 6-7 p.m. at Zilker Park. 5:15 pm Pre-event Music, 6:00 pm Ceremony. Free parking first-come first-served on the south side of Zilker Park. Carpool to the event or take Cap Metro. Overflow park and walk in the gravel area located just west of Stratford Drive and Lou Neff Road.

November 29

Santa’s Jingle House has so many cute and fun events for kids during the holidays. One of our favorites is the Holiday Bingo, Elf Scavenger Hunt & S’mores or just the plain Elf Scavenger Hunt. Get some treats and hunt for elves! We have done this several times over the years, and my kids have a blast each time. Even my 13 year old loved it last year, and said he wants to go back this year! December 1

Annual Georgetown Christmas Stroll is 5-9 p.m. on December 1, 2023 and 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on December 2, 2023 in historic downtown Georgetown. Parade (on Saturday at 10 a.m.) and more. 103 W 7th St, Georgetown.

The Driskill will kick-off the holiday season with a Tree Lighting ceremony, accompanied by live music and cocktails, and Santa on December 1st, 2023 at 5 p.m. (start), 6 p.m. (lighting) in the lobby.

Light Up The Lake in Round Rock is on December 1 & 2, 2023 from 6-9:30 p.m. FREE! 2-day holiday festival around the lake and festival area. Santa’s Jingle House in Round Rock has a Santa VIP Event with a dessert buffet, a photo session with Santa, ornament and cookie decorating, Bingo, letters to Santa, elf scavenger hunt, and more! Heritage Park in Cedar Park Tree Lighting Ceremony: snow hill, snow playing area, games & prizes, crafts, photos with Santa, yule fire, live music, inflatables & food concessions. Friday, December 1, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Heritage Oak Park, 875 Quest Parkway, Cedar Park.

Lakeway Trail of Lights is December 1, 2023 through January 1, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. One of Lakeway’s most cherished traditions is the Trail of Lights! Access the trail from the lower level of the parking lot at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) or by parking behind City Hall (1102 Lohman’s Crossing at the corner of Lohman’s and Sailmaster). December 2

Fairmont Austin’s Annual Tree Lighting & Holiday Showcase is Dec 2 from 5-8 p.m. This family-friendly event welcomes all as the hotel lights its lobby tree. Luminary Festival at Wells Branch is a tranquil and unique community tradition for the entire family. The trails around Katherine Fleischer Park are lined with over 1500 traditional paper luminarias. Both Friday and Saturday evenings the park come alive and the trails twinkle. Luminary Festival will be at Katherine Fleischer Park on December 8, 2023 from 6-9 pm. 2106 Klattenhoff Dr, Austin.

37th Street has been displaying the weirdest lights in town since the 1980s. The community on 37th is eager to continue the tradition with quirky displays at 37th and Guadalupe, near Dominos and Groovy Lube.

South Austin Rec Center Gingerbread Workshop 6-8 p.m. 1100 Cumberland Rd, Austin Come and decorate gingerbread people, create ornaments and Christmas cards, indulge in hot cocoa and popcorn, and watch a special showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Ghosts of Christmas Past Staged Reading at Pioneer Farms, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive

Ice Skating

Bee Cave On Ice opens on Nov 10 at the Hill Country Galleria and runs thru January 15th. The $15 ticket includes a skate rental and a 60-minute skate session. Reservations are highly encouraged, but a number of walk-ups will be available. Skate times each day vary. 

Ice Rodeo at The Four Seasons opens on Nov 18 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. $45

Marble Falls goes out for the holidays, and this includes an ice skating rink! Open November 18-December 31, 2023 from 5-10 p.m. weather permitting. Pre-sale tickets are $10, while day-of tickets are $12. To ensure you have the time slot you want, we HIGHLY recommend booking your tickets in advance. The Ice Rink will feature fun activities such as snow days and the opportunity for private parties. Cut-Your-Own Christmas Tree

When you arrive at Elgin Christmas Tree Farm, you will be given a tag (once you cut and find your perfect tree) you will cut it then tag it (keep the other part).  A nice hayride will take you out to the cutting fields so you can begin your search.  Someone will pick your tree up once you cut it, your tree will be shaken and baled and ready for its ride home. At Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm, you take a wagon ride out to the field where you can cut your own Texas-grown Christmas tree or pick a precut Noble fir or Fraser fir. Trees are available November 24, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sundays from 1-5 p.m., and weekdays from 1-5 p.m. (until they sell out). 242 Monkey Rd, Elgin.

Cookies For Caring

In 1969 volunteers organized a bake sale to save the hotel from demolition, and because of their efforts, the hotel is still standing today. Cookies for Caring continues the tradition of The Driskill’s beloved baked sales, and raises funds for the Austin American-Statesman’s Season for Caring. The pickup event will be held on December 1-3. Cookies tins will be available for purchase in November. All profits will go to Austin American-Statesman Season for Caring families.

Generation Serve

One of the few places in town that allows children to volunteer. Families with children as young as 3 years old volunteer together at family service activities. Register on their website and check their calendar for volunteering opportunities.

Coats For Kids

The Junior League of Austin (JLA) will hold the 37th annual Coats for Kids Distribution November 30 – December 9, 2023. The Junior League of Austin aims to provide warm winter coats to Central Texas children in need. Donate gently used coats to any Jack Brown Cleaners, or donate $20 to purchase a new coat. If you’d prefer to volunteer your time, go here.

IKEA Round Rock Toy Drive

November 9th- December 15th, IKEA Round Rock is collecting new and unused toys for Holiday Wishes a non-profit dedicated to providing foster children with a toy for the holidays. Look for the donation house near the community wall near the store entrance.

Johnson City Lights is a light display with over a million lights. And it’s so big, NASA reported seeing it from the International Space Station! Yes, that would be the Johnson City Texas Lights Spectacular. From November 24, 2023 to January 7, 2024, you and your family can see this incredible lights display for free. Bastrop River of Lights has numerous lighted displays in a variety of seasonal themes lining Bastrop’s scenic June Hill Pape River Walk. To access this free one-half mile promenade, come down the stairs west of the intersection of Main and Pine Streets or select the fully accessible entrance at Fishermans Park on Farm Street. November 25, 2023 – January 2, 2024.

North Pole Flyer is on weekends November 25 – December 17, 2023. Tickets are $47-$65 and you can get them here. Kids 3 and under can sit on a lap for free. Hot chocolate, a story performance, and meet Santa! This ride is 2 hours and departs from Bertam, 100 W State Hwy 29, Bertram.
