Lakewood Park in Leander is worth the drive for a family adventure. The playground is spectacular, and there is much more to explore beyond it.
Play at the playground, walk the trails, or look for the Phoenix Trail fort in the sculpture garden. It is one of the former Fortlandia forts you can find around Austin.
A playground, lake, fishing pier, skate park, and seasonal splash pad give families plenty of ways to mix up the day. It earns its place among our favorite playgrounds around Austin.
Leave time to explore beyond the playscape, and check splash-pad operations if water play is part of your plan.
Families can explore artist and vendor booths, hear live music, visit the bouncy house, and enjoy the sculpture trail and regular park amenities. Kids can also look for the children’s art contest, fairy house contest, and kids entrepreneur market. The park is handicap accessible, though some festival areas may be on grass or mulch paths.
