We had such a delightful time at Son’s Rio Cibolo and couldn’t wait to tell everyone all about it when we got back home. Spend some time reading in a hammock, kayak in the creek, soak in a hot tub, jump in the pool, or play games in an old timey Texas dance hall. Don’t forget to make some s’mores after dinner! It’s the perfect getaway for relaxation and fun.

Cabins

The cabins at Son’s Rio Cibolo are up on high stilts, so you have a cool view of the area no matter which cabin you choose. The cabins have air conditioning and heat, so you could go no matter what the weather brings. The spacious cabins have 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds.

The mini kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, and hot plate. There isn’t a stove, but there are grills out on the balcony and a fire pit down below. They have both an electric grill and a coal grill. Each kitchen also comes with dishes and silverware.

The bathroom in the cabin has a shower (no bathtub).

Bedding and towels come included in the cabin.

There is so much to do on the property, but for cabin entertainment, they have a tv, dvd player, and wifi.

Each cabin has its own fire pit, picnic table, and hammock for a relaxing night of roasting marshmallows under the stars.

Cabanas

If you reserve a cabin at Son’s Rio Cibolo, it comes with a free cabana. The cabanas are located right along the water. You can reserve a cabana at Son’s Rio Cibolo for the day even if you don’t stay in a cabin. The rental time slot is from 10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Every cabana has: a picnic table, a hammock, lounge chairs, a BBQ pit, comfortable seating, running water and electricity, a bar top table and stools. Cabana rental fee includes entry for up to 8 people, though you may have a maximum of 15 people per cabana at an additional cost per person.

Creek Amenities

The kayaks and SUP boards were available for free when we went because we had rented a cabin. You may have to reserve them $29 if you are just getting a cabana. Each cabana also had a floating lily pad connected to the deck, which is hours of fun for the kids to jump on and off of.

Old Dance Hall Game Room

My favorite part of the whole weekend was spending time in the old timey dance hall/game room. They have left many charming aspects of the old dance hall space and it feels like you’re stepping back in time. But it’s also filled with new modern games that are in great condition! We played foosball, ping pong, air hockey, pool, shuffleboard, checkers, and even poker!

Pools & Hot Tubs

We went in October, when the weather was beautiful. The boys were able to enjoy both the hot tubs and the pool. The pool was too cold for me, but they didn’t care of course. There are several pools and hot tubs, and the pool have little basketball hoops and balls. There are even grills out by the pools, if you choose to eat out there.

There’s sand volleyball and tetherball over by the pool area.
