From amazing parks and playgrounds to delicious ice cream shops, there are plenty of options to keep your kids entertained and satisfied. In this blog post, we’ll be highlighting some of the best ice cream and playground combinations that Austin has to offer. These are all the ice cream +playgrounds in Austin your kids will love.
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream
Handel’s just opened in Anderson Mill West (right by Torchy’s). They have crazy good, unique flavors (all homemade!) and so many options like chocolate raspberry truffle and blueberry cobbler, it’s hard to choose! They also have a playground right out front making it the perfect spot to treat your kids.
Manolis
Manolis makes homemade ice cream in South Austin and serves it out of their food truck situated on a gorgeous shady patio. They have a playscape and yard games for kids and plenty of covered picnic tables.
Besame
We love going to Meanwhile (it’s the #1 place we bring our visitors from out of town!), and our trips there are made even sweeter when the Besame Ice Cream Truck is open! The “Over The Rainbow” flavor is a must-try (and one we always get), but the best part of this place is their over-the-top unique flavors (and names!). Everything we’ve tried here we have loved.
Amy’s Ice Creams
There are several Amy’s Ice Creams that also have playgrounds. Try Amy’s 183 (13265 US-183 Hwy Suite a, Austin, TX 78750), Amy’s on Burnet (5624 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78756), and Amy’s South Lamar.
Jeni’s at the Triangle
Connor’s Creamery
Connor’s Creamery is an ice cream food truck that sits on the patio at Garbo’s Lobster in North Austin. There is a playground on the other side of the patio with a cool pirate ship and some swings.
Museum of Ice Cream
Perhaps the ultimate playground to pair with your ice cream experience lives inside the Museum of Ice Cream. Each room offers its own surprises and delights, but of course the sprinkles pool at the end will steal the show (and your kids’ hearts). You also get all-you-can-eat unlimited ice cream during your time inside (so be sure to take advantage of that!).
In conclusion, there are plenty of ice cream and playground combinations in Austin that your kids will love. From classic flavors to unique creations, there’s something for everyone. And with so many amazing parks and playgrounds in the city, you’re sure to find the perfect spot to enjoy your sweet treat. So grab your family, head out, and explore all that Austin has to offer.
