Fun + Food Pairing: Blue Hole + Hat Creek in Georgetown
If you’re looking for a fun day out in Georgetown, we’ve got a fun pairing for you! Park and eat at Hat Creek, then head down the path from the parking lot to Blue Hole. Here’s all the details on this Fun + Food Pairing: Blue Hole + Hat Creek in Georgetown.
Hat Creek
We love to eat at Hat Creek. We all enjoy the food, and the kids love the new playground. Don’t forget the milkshake when you’re done! My kids love the “dirt & worms” flavor which has gummy worms in it.
Head straight down from the parking lot on the little trail that leads down to the water:
You will arrive at the shallow section, which is perfect for little kids who can’t swim yet. We usually end up in this spot. Just be careful that the water isn’t stagnant or too warm. If the water is flowing into the area, it should be ok to play in. Use your best judgement when playing in water.

Blue Hole
Blue Hole is a free swimming hole in Georgetown. Bring your swimsuits and floats, sunscreen, and water. You can hang out here all day! There’s a shallow section that’s fun for younger kids and a deeper section near the little waterfall. You might even see people jumping the cliffs farther down! The signs say it’s not allowed but no one really heeds the warning.
Bonus Fun: Splash Pad and Playground at San Jose Park
There’s also a little park about 5 minutes away that has a playground and splash pad if you’d like to have a little more fun before heading home!
