Mother’s Day is coming up and you’re going to want to make reservations for some of these places ASAP! Treat the moms in your life to a relaxing spa day, a tea party, flowers, shopping, and more! Here’s how to celebrate Mom in Austin this Mother’s Day!
Spas
Viva Day Spa is my go-to spa in Austin. I especially love their hydra-facial.
Brunch
Brunch at Fairmont Austin is May 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. $125/adult, $35/kid (5 and under are free). Fairmont Austin is where we spent Mother’s Day last year and it was incredible! The most beautiful display of food, plus a market with artisan gifts.
Kalahari is having their Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch on May 10, 2026 and you can also pick your mom some flowers at the farm. 12-2 p.m.
Brunch
Mothers Day Brunch at Volente Beach is May 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Buffet, live music by the Princess of the Sea, and special guest appearances by Cinderella and Belle! $25-30
As far as other brunch spots go, we love Moonshine, Jack Allen’s, Snooze, 1886 Cafe inside the Driskill, and Oasthouse.
Cookie Class
Try something new this year and sign Mom up for a cookie decorating class with Penny Royal Bakery! It’s such a unique and fun experience gift you can do together! There’s availability in the May 9th class for all ages and adults only.
Tea Parties & Champagne Dinner
Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Rivery Coffee & Bagels in Georgetown– Indulge in a delightful afternoon with your mom at Rivery Coffee and Bagels! Treat her to a special Mother’s Day celebration to create everlasting memories together. $45/person. Go here to make reservations.
The Driskill Hotel does a Mother’s Day Grand Tea starting at $58. Register before you go. Held in The Driskill Ballroom, this lavish tea service features three courses including scones, tea sandwiches and desserts accompanied by a selection of bespoke brews. In addition to enjoying a famed afternoon delight, mark the moment with a professional family portrait on a decorated set in our Maximillian Room. Add the finishing touch to Mom’s Day and surprise her with a bouquet of roses, bushel of lilies or handmade corsage from Jordan Flowers. Pre-Orders will be available for pickup upon your arrival at our mezzanine Flower Bar.
A Toast to Moms: A Mother’s Day Champagne Dinner at Central Market North Lamar is May 9, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets at $105.
Mozart’s Coffee Mother’s Day Tea party- Indulge in a morning of exquisite table service with a delightful array of light bites, decadent desserts, and superb tea, coffee, and more! May 9 & 10, 2026 from 9:30-noon.
Mother’s Day Tea at Brentwood Social House is May 10, 2026 at 2 p.m.
Flowers and Plants
The Zilker Botanical Garden is a lovely place to spend a day with Mom. Make a day of it and pack a picnic to eat at Zilker Park afterwards!
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is also a perfect place to take Mom for Mother’s Day. They are hosting a Mother’s Day event on May 10 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Reserve a craft kit online before you go! We end up spending hours in the family garden, in the giant nests, exploring in the waterfall tunnel, and more. May is a beautiful time of year to see so many flowers in bloom there.
Flowers and Plants
Take Mom to make her own plant creation at Plant Party!
The Natural Gardener is a place that more of a destination than just a plain old garden nursery. You can bring the kids and stay for a while- there’s so much to do here! Visit the chickens and goats, climb the dinosaur structure, pick out some plants- my boys loved it here!
Shopping
Mother’s Day on Music Lane is May 10, 2026 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1011 S Congress Ave, Austin. Flowers, music, lipstick engraving and color-matching touch-ups from Lip Lab, complimentary professional photos, fashion sketches, and live music by Katrina Cain.
Strolling South Congress is always a favorite place to shop. I love this option for both moms with their kids or moms with other mom friends (leave the kids at home). For brunch before you shop, try June’s or Perla’s!
2nd Street District is another good spot in town for some Mom shopping. You can find unique Austin local items and gifts, along with yummy dining options.
Shopping
Farmers Markets are always a fun way to spend a beautiful weekend morning- especially in May! Treat Mom to a Teddy V cookie, a Ctrus lemonade (the BEST!!!), and maybe a fresh bouquet of flowers. Then gather up some fresh ingredients to bring home and make dinner for the Mom in your life!

Mother’s Day Flyer at Austin Steam Train is May 9, 2026 at 9 a.m. $45-75. Riding on a historic train is a unique experience. Where else can you ride in a living museum? Our signature ride, the Hill Country Flyer allows you time to explore our vintage train cars, historically restored for your enjoyment! On board the train, you will wind through the Texas Hill Country, crossing the trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon.
