Mother’s Day is coming up and you’re going to want to make reservations for some of these places ASAP! Treat the moms in your life to a relaxing spa day, a tea party, flowers, shopping, and more! Here’s how to celebrate Mom in Austin this Mother’s Day!
The Spa at Kalahari

I was blown away by how much I loved this spa. The Spa inside Kalahari (the largest indoor waterpark in America) is its own entity, so you don’t need waterpark passes or reservations to the resort to visit the Spa. You do need to book a Spa treatment to use the Spa facilities which includes an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, lounge spaces, a sauna, and a Halotherapy (Himalayan Salt Room). Spa services include massage, facials, nails, and hair treatments. The mom in your life will love spending an entire day at this luxurious spa!
Mother’s Day Brunch at Kalahari
Another Kalahari option is their Mother’s Day Brunch! On Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. you can treat Mom to brunch in their ballroom at the resort. Adults are $70, kids are $22 (3 and under are free). Make a reservation here.
Tea Party

Rivery Coffeehouse in Georgetown puts on a spectacular tea party!
The Driskill Hotel does a Mother’s Day tea, but it’s already sold out for 2022. Keeping it on the list in case you want to try and book for next year!
Brentwood Social House is hosting Mother’s Day tea parties this year! This charming spot is perfect for moms with younger kids, as they have both an indoor and outdoor play areas for little kids. The tea party is $40/adult and $30/kid (ages 6-12) You must make a reservation to attend. Reservations opening soon.
Museum of Ice Cream

Museum of Ice Cream Austin is set to celebrate mom with the sweetest party in town! Make a date with her on Saturday, May 7 or Sunday, May 8 as MOIC transforms 12 multi-sensory installations into a celebration of moms, near and far. For this two day event, MOIC ATX will serve up immersive crafts, games and special cocktails only available during Mother’s Day weekend. The MOIC Café will also feature limited time cocktails like a “MOMosa”, a sparkling rose cocktail topped with a glitter cotton candy surprise – and the “Mother of All Milkshakes”, a banana split milkshake made with sweet vanilla ice cream, decadent chocolate fudge, banana room yellow whipped cream, sweet pink chocolate drip, dressed up with edible wafer flowers and finished with a bright pink cherry. Limited tickets for Mother’s Day weekend start at $34 for adults and are free for children aged 2 and below. Museum of Ice Cream Austin is open Thursday to Monday and is located at 11506 Century Oaks Terrace #128 at The Domain.
Flowers

The Zilker Botanical Garden is a lovely place to spend a day with Mom. Make a day of it and pack a picnic to eat at Zilker Park afterwards!
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is also a perfect place to take Mom for Mother’s Day. We end up spending hours in the family garden, in the giant nests, exploring in the waterfall tunnel, and more. May is a beautiful time of year to see so many flowers in bloom there.
The Natural Gardener is a place that more of a destination than just a plain old garden nursery. You can bring the kids and stay for a while- there’s so much to do here! Visit the goats, climb the dinosaur structure, pick out some plants- my boys loved it here!

Shopping

Strolling South Congress is always a favorite place to shop. I love this option for both moms with their kids or moms with other mom friends (leave the kids at home). For brunch before you shop, try June’s or Perla’s!
2nd Street District is another good spot in town for some Mom shopping. You can find unique Austin local items and gifts, along with yummy dining options.
Farmers Markets are always a fun way to spend a beautiful weekend morning- especially in May! Treat Mom to a Teddy V cookie, a Ctrus lemonade (the BEST!!!), and maybe a fresh bouquet of flowers. Then gather up some fresh ingredients to bring home and make dinner for the Mom in your life!
Mother’s Day Blooms & Brews Festival
Barton Hill Farm is hosting a festival just for the mamas! The Blooms & Brews Festival has pick-your-own flowers, live music, cold drinks, and all the fun farm activities that the kids will love.
