Mrs. Doubtfire Is Coming to Austin This September
Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny is headed to Austin! Mrs. Doubtfire is coming to Bass Concert Hall September 22–27, 2026, as part of the Broadway in Austin season.
If your family loves the original Mrs. Doubtfire movie — or you’re looking for a funny Broadway show to see with older kids — this one should definitely be on your radar.

Based on the beloved movie, Mrs. Doubtfire follows out-of-work actor Daniel Hillard, a dad who will do just about anything to spend more time with his kids.
After losing custody following a messy divorce, Daniel comes up with a pretty wild solution: he transforms himself into Euphegenia Doubtfire, a Scottish nanny, and gets hired to take care of his own children.
Obviously, things get complicated.
The musical takes the familiar story from the movie and turns it into a big Broadway comedy filled with music, laughs, elaborate disguises, and a surprisingly sweet story about family.
Is Mrs. Doubtfire Good for Kids?
Yes — but this is probably a better choice for older elementary kids, tweens, and teens rather than very young children.
Texas Performing Arts officially recommends Mrs. Doubtfire for ages 8 and up. The show runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission.
If you have a kid who enjoys musicals, theater, comedy, or the original Robin Williams movie, this could be a really fun introduction to a Broadway touring production.
And honestly, this is one of those shows where parents may be just as excited to go as the kids.
