Central Market on North Lamar is our number 1 choice for the best patio with a playground + live music. It isn’t just a place to shop for groceries; it’s a community hub where families gather to listen to live music. The venue features a large outdoor patio and playground where kids can play within view while parents enjoy music from local bands. The family-friendly atmosphere and variety of food options make it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening.
2. Cherrywood Coffeehouse
Cherrywood Coffeehouse is a favorite local spot that serves up delicious food, coffee, and live music in a casual, family-friendly environment. They don’t have a playground, but they do have a Family Hour every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. where a live band plays kid music.
3. Vista Brewing
This kid-friendly brewery has lots of open space, a playground, and live music every Friday night from 6-8 p.m. They also have Sunday Under The Oaks which is all-day-Sunday-Brunch with live music from 2-4 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public (all ages).

This beloved Austin coffee shop has a gorgeous patio that overlooks the water. The don’t have a playground, but my kids still love coming here and it’s a great spot to bring visitors/out of town guests because the view just can’t be beat! Check their calendar for live music updates. Then, come back during the holidays for their epic lights display!
8. Rockabilly Brewing
We visited this brewery over the summer and loved their patio with a playground, BBQ food truck, beers, and board games. They don’t have any live music listed on their website, but a guy was singing and playing guitar while we were there! Try checking their Facebook page as well.
9. The Far Out Lounge (The Breakfast Boogie)
The Far Out Lounge has a popular kids’ music show called The Breakfast Boogie. Tickets are $10/adult and $5/kid. They usually include 2 hours of live music, crafts, bubbles, and more.
