Calling all fairy enthusiasts, tiny adventurers, and parents in need of a magical outing! The Woodland Faerie Trail at Zilker Botanical Garden is back and more enchanting than ever. From May 10 through July 12, 2025, this beloved Austin tradition invites families to explore a world of imagination.

The Garden is open 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Closing at 5:00 PM)
Beginning June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025 the hours will be 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Closing at 4:00 PM)

**Closed The Fourth of July**

Grand Opening Celebration is on May 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The trail will remain open daily through July 12, 2025.

There are TWO FREE DAYS at the Garden during the Faerie Trail! On May 26 and June 15, you can see the Zilker Botanical Garden (and the Woodland Faerie Trail FOR FREE!)

What Is The Woodland Faerie Trail?

The Woodland Faerie Trail features 100 handcrafted fairy homes, each designed by local families, artists, and community groups. These miniature masterpieces, constructed with natural materials, are scattered along a winding trail that promises discovery and delight at every turn.

Grand Opening Celebration

Fairy Freeze Shave Ice will be at the Grand Opening Celebration on May 10!

Other Grand Opening Day activities include: decorating cookies, flower crowns, fairy house kits, guided tours, faerie movement class, planter workshop, and more! You will even see some real faeries (from Just Add Magic) there!

Come dressed in your best faerie attire to help celebrate!

We love our Woom Bike! They’re the best for new riders. We got ours as a balance bike and then attached the pedals after he got the hang of riding (took about 4 days!) The pedals were so easy to put on!

🚂 First stop: the newly refurbished Cedar Rock Railroad! They got a new train and playground!

⏰ Open Tues-Fri 10am-5pm and weekends 10am-6pm (CLOSED MONDAYS)
🎟️ $3.75 (babies under 1 are free)
🚂 Train departs at :15 and :45 each hour (or once per hour on slow days). Ride is about 15 minutes and includes a tunnel.
🛝 They also have several play areas and a little locomotive chase (hand-cranked train on tracks for kids ages 3+)
